The sophisticated conference venue, Oryx, is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and available for conferences or lavish banquets.
The modern interior is perfectly paired with raw wooded tables to ensure a fresh look and unique atmosphere at every banquet. All the necessary conference equipment is available and our team of professional events coordinators will ensure the venue is prepared according to your individual requirements.
With the option of three individual breakaway rooms or one large ballroom, Oryx can accommodate 20-200 guests.
Tree of Life Ballroom
Its crystal chandeliers, mirrors on the ceiling and breath-taking views of the bush make this venue the perfect backdrop to any function. It is elegantly decorated in a neutral palette that allows the venue to suit possibly any colour scheme and theme you might decide on. The retractable doors open up to merge with the adjacent terrace, allowing for more creativity in terms of space and function options.
Our capacity in the Tree of Life Ballroom for a sit-down dinner is 80 guests and once the retractable doors are opened, a further 60 guests can be accommodated on the adjoining terrace. Total capacity is 160 guests.
The Terrace
The alfresco-style terrace on the lodge’s front veranda creates a unique and breath-taking entertainment area with various options. During the day, it serves as a casual entertainment area next to the infinity pool. Guests can experience the thrill of watching the hippos graze and the various game species drinking at the large waterhole in front of the lodge. The cry of the fish-eagle guarantees the lure of Palala to remain in your heart forever. As the sun dips, the spectacular, colourful appeal of the sunset over the waterway brings guests together for pre-dinner drinks and excited banter about the day’s experiences.
At night, this area can be transformed into an absolute wonderland to serve as setting for fabulous weddings or the perfect backdrop as banqueting venue with a total capacity of 120 guests.
Oom Dup se Witgatwortel Lapa
For a more relaxed and casual event, enjoy a true African dining experience in our Lapa setting. Illuminated by firelight and starry skies, diners will enjoy the diverse and tasteful cuisine complemented by authentic traditional flare such as potjies, braai’s and wood-oven pizzas. This venue can be booked for a private party of up to 80 guests and when reserved, exclusivity is ensured as it boasts a well-stocked bar, separate catering facilities with kitchen and its own bathroom facilities.
The Island
The island is situated in the stretch of waterway in front of the lodge and brings a unique and interesting element to the venue diversity Palala has to offer. The island lends itself to breath-taking photo opportunities, romantic picnics, team-building events, wedding ceremonies or wedding guests enjoying their canapes, and so much more.
